Today marks the start of the November Great Cloth Diaper Hunt and we are thrilled to be participating as a sponsor.  The GCDH is a wonderful internet scavenger hunt created by Susie Arevalo of Diaper Decisions.  GCDH sponsors are cloth diapering businesses who contribute a prize and then hide the GCDH icon on their website.  Individuals participating in the hunt search through sponsors’ sites to find the icon.  By finding the icon hunters are eligible to win prizes and this year’s Ultimate Grand Prize is worth $1,156.46!

The GCDH runs through the month of November and you can become a hunter by registering on Diaper Decisions.  After you’ve registered, visit the Nov. 2007 Sponsors list and start hunting for those icons!  Diaper Decisions recommends starting with businesses that begin with the same letter as your last name.

Some sites will hide the icon radomly on their site and others will take you on a mini scavenger hunt of their own (providing hints on their site to guide you).  For most of the 175 participating sponsor sites, the icon can be no more than four clicks away from the home page and cannot be embedded in text or another image.  However there are 15 Extreme Sponsors and these sites offer ”no holds barred” hunting and their icons could be anywhere!  All sponsors check the Hint Forum daily so Hunters can ask for additional clues or hints if they get stuck finding the icon.

After searching and searching, Hunters will be relieved to find the cute, little diaper icon.  Once they click on the icon, they will be prompted to enter their email address confirming that they found it.  Hunters are then registered to win daily prizes or entered to win larger prizes based on the number of icons they find.  They can track their progress online or with the help of a printable sponsor list.  (Sorry Hunters this icon is part of the news article and not clickable.  We couldn’t make it that easy for you!)
